Hot on the heels of the news that Adrien Brody is joining the cast of Peaky Blinders, the BBC has revealed that Game of Thrones’ Aidan Gillen is also on board for season 4.
As reported earlier in the week, filming has just begun on the fourth series, which will see Thomas Shelby (Cillian Murphy) swapping his country manor for his old stomping grounds of Birmingham when he discovers that the Peaky Blinders are in danger of being wiped out.
The fact that Gillen will be joined by fellow Irish actor Charlie Murphy in season 4 suggests that the new series may see the Shelby clan once again getting mixed up with the IRA.
All creator Steven Knight would say is: “We have a dream team gathered for series four of Peaky Blinders. Adrien Brody, Aidan Gillen and Charlie Murphy give us a wealth of talent to work with, and with Tom Hardy and Charlotte Riley returning we couldn’t have hoped for more.”
