Charles and Diana next Feud for Ryan Murphy

A second season of Ryan Murphy’s new anthology series Feud has been ordered – and this time the subject will be the marriage of Prince Charles and Princess Diana.

The first 8-part series – which premieres on Foxtel on March 12 – details the infamous feud between Hollywood legends Bette Davis and Joan Crawford, played by Susan Sarandon and Jessica Lange, respectively.

Although no details have been given about second instalment of Feud, the title Charles and Diana suggests that the marriage and subsequent bitter split of the two royals will provide the suitably juicy subject matter for volume 2.

Feud cements Murphy’s status as the king of the anthology series. His first, American Horror Story, is in its seventh year, with season 8 and 9 already greenlit. He and his team are also working on two follow-ups to his award-winning American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson: one will focus on the aftermath of Hurricana Katrina and the other will centre on the murder of fashion king Gianni Versace.

As well as Sarandon and Lange, Feud: Bette & Joan boasts an all-star cast, including Alfred Molina as cult director Robert Aldrich, Stanley Tucci as studio titan Jack Warner, Judy Davis as gossip columnist Hedda Hopper and Catherine Zeta-Jones as Olivia de Havilland.
