The latest Marvel TV sensation Legion has been greenlit for a second series.
The dark X-Men spin-off – which is nearing the end of its first season run – tells the story of David Haller (played by Dan Stevens), a powerful young mutant who has been in and out of psychiatric hospitals for years after being diagnosed as schizophrenic as a child. Co-stars include Aubrey Plaza and Rachel Keller as fellow troubled patients, while the showrunner is Fargo’s Noah Hawley.
Legion has been both a critical and ratings hit in the US, so it’s no surprise that FX Networks and Marvel have acted quickly to order a a second series.
Jeph Loeb, executive producer and head of Marvel Television, says: “We are thrilled there will be a new season of Legion. Noah's spectacular take on David Haller and all the other characters he brought to life makes us ache for more.”
