Rogue One: A Star Wars Story
It doesn't seem like a long time ago in this galaxy that we were hanging out for the first standalone Star Wars feature, and this week we can watch it in the comfort of our own home. Be one with the Force and own one of JB Hi-Fi's exclusive Blu-ray editions that come with a special bonus disc of additional behind-the-scenes featurettes.
This SyFy mini-series is an adaptation of the great Arthur C. Clarke's 1953 novel of the same name. Childhood's End isn't your average alien invasion epic: these alien 'Overlords' are here to eliminate the world's problems (famine, war, etc.) rather than us. But what do they want in return? It may not be 2001, but it's still a solid, thought-provoking sci-fi tale.
The Edge of Seventeen
Growing up isn’t the perennial party that’s so often portrayed in the movies. It’s hard, and The Edge of Seventeen depicts this brilliantly, in what is one of the best bittersweet teen dramedies since the genre’s glory days of Molly Ringwald and John Hughes.
AT THE CINEMA
This action-packed update of the cheesy '70s TV cop series sees California Highway Patrol officers Jon Baker (Dax Shepard) and Frank Poncherello (Michael Peña) thrown into a partnership that causes more mayhem than it fixes. One’s a beaten-up pro biker trying to stabilise his life and marriage, the other a cocky undercover FBI agent investigating possibly crooked cops inside the CHP. Read our interview with the stars and check out the movie on April 6.
