Alison Moyet heading Down Under

80s icon Alison Moyet has announced her first Australasian tour in more than 30 years.

The former Yazoo singer will play a series of dates in Australia and New Zealand in October to support her latest solo album Other which will be released in June. The tour will kick off in Perth on October 4 and will conclude in Christchurch in October 16; presales begin on Wednesday (March 22).

‘’I'm beyond delighted to be returning to Australia and New Zealand again after 30 years,” Moyet says. “Having had some considerable time to practice in the interim, I am glad to declare that gigging is my favourite thing ever. My new album Other which continues the electronic sound-bed I favoured on the minutes allows my live work to also present many of my earlier songs in their intended form, albeit with some jiggery pokery.”

Moyet got her first big break with Yazoo, whose early 80s hits included Only You and Nobody’s Diary. Solo, her international hits include Love Resurrection, All Cried Out and Invisible.
