A new red iPhone 7 and a cheaper iPad are among the new products unveiled by Apple overnight.
With a radical new iPhone 8 reportedly in the pipeline for later in the year, it was a relatively low key launch from the tech giant, being more about enhancements and tweaks to existing products.
Nevertheless, people who have resisted investing in a tablet may be tempted by the latest version of the iPad – the ‘Air’ has now been dropped from the name – with models priced between $469 and $799. A new edition of the iPad Mini has also been introduced, with prices starting at $579.
For Apple devotees with a little more cash to spend, Apple has unveiled red versions of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. These special edition models are priced from $1229 and $1419, respectively, but the technology behemoth will make a donation for each phone sold to the charity organisation (RED)’s Global Fund for HIV and AIDS programs.
In addition, Apple has doubled the storage size of its iPhone SE models, which will now be available as 32GB and 128GB models.
All the new products will be available from March 25.
